We started with a birthday breakfast of cinnamon/sugar toast & then headed to vbs. After vbs, we had Daniel's favorite lunch.....a lunchable! I know they are gross, but he eats them like they are THE BEST THING EVER!! I ordered him some new tennis shoes last week, not for his birthday, but because his other ones were falling apart and they were delivered this afternoon. He was SOOOOO excited about them & kept saying what a great birthday gift they were, so I just went with it! Ha! He thought all afternoon that they were his gift from us, so his real gift, a nintendo ds, was a BIG surprise when we gave it to him! This is the first video anything he's ever had or played, so we'll see how it goes! He was also really excited to open a ds baseball game from Caroline too. He got to choose where to go for dinner & he chose The Olive Garden. We have a brand new one in Trussville & he has watched the construction carefully. Several weeks ago, when the outside was close to being finished, he deemed it a 'fancy' restaurant. He said since it was his special day, he wanted to eat somewhere 'fancy' to celebrate! Ha! So Olive Garden it was! And then, no suprise, he chose Yogurt Mountain for dessert. We headed to Target after YM to make a BIG purchase that Daniel has been looking forward to for months......a boosterseat for the car!! Until tonight, he has still been in his Britax 5 point harness! Around Christmas, he started to notice that he, apparently, was the only kindergartner left on the planet still in a carseat. Maybe he is, but the seat is for up to 65 lbs. & he only weighs 52. I can't stand the thought of driving on the interstate with him not strapped in a 5 point harness, but I caved months ago & told him he could get a booster when he turns seven. It got here fast! I guess I should've said eight! Anyway, he has had a great day and we have all enjoyed celebrating with him. We have loved spending the last seven years with you sweet boy & look forward to the next seven!
