We spent the weekend 'storing up' for the winter storm predicted to hit us on Sunday. We stopped at Publix every time we passed it all weekend long & for once, it ended up paying off. The sleet & ice started about 3:00 Sunday afternoon & turned to snow around 7:30 Sunday night. A mixture of both continued throughout the night. We woke up to a Winter Wonderland Monday morning & it was BEAUTIFUL! Daniel & Laura Ann were so excited about it & could hardly wait to get outside & play. We put them off until 9:00. It took forever to get on all of our layers, but at last we were ready to head out. Although it looked like snow, it was mostly ice & was very crunchy & slick. Not such great conditions for building snowmen & making snow angels (Laura Ann's favorite thing about snow), but PERFECT for sledding! We started our sledding at the top of our side yard, would cross the street & then hit our neighbor's driveway to go all the way down! It was quite the hill & lots of fun. Daniel & Laura Ann loved it & did it several times, as did Dan. We were having a grand ole' time until Daniel & Laura Ann somehow managed to go farther down than we were expecting & hit a tree going full speed. Thankfully, neither one of them were hurt, but it scared Daniel enough that he was done with sledding for awhile. Not Laura Ann, though. She couldn't get enough of it! She quit doing the big hill & stuck to the hill in our yard instead. Dan would catch her in the street to stop her from going any farther. The neighborhood crew joined us & we all had so much fun. Daniel, Jeb & Layton did lots of sliding around up & down the street on their boards. We stayed out a couple of hours until we were completely numb before heading in. Layton & his mom were so sweet to bring us all hot chocolate just as we were going in! After lunch & a little rest, Daniel headed back out & worked up the courage to get back on the sled. He stuck to the small hill in our yard though!

I am so jealous! Y'all got TONS more than we did. Our ground was barely even covered in snow...just mostly ice. Looks like the kids had a blast! So much fun!!!
Y'all got a lot more than us too!!! And no, the make up does not come off, her eyebrows are still pink from that application!!!
