One Brave Little Boy.....

Being really brave just before time to see the doctor

Dr. Deitline presenting Daniel with his certificate of bravery

And a shot of his eye after a really rough day!

Daniel tripped & fell last Thursday in his classroom. When he fell, he hit his head on the edge of a a desk & cut his eye. Apparently there was lots of blood involved (according to Daniel & it was all over his shirt) & Ms. Elledge rushed him to the nurse's office. The nurse bandaged him up & called to say that he may need stitches. Dan picked him up because he was closest to the school when we got the call. The nurse reported that Daniel had been so very brave. Daniel added that he only cried 'a little bit' with Ms. Elledge when he first fell. We had to wait a couple of hours to see the pediatrician, so we took advantage of our time & went out to lunch and then to the Dollar Tree to get a treat (I really splurged, here :). Daniel enjoyed soaking up lots of attention from Dan & me. He continued his bravery at the doctor's office. He only had a small 'melt down' when Dr. Deitline cleaned the cut, but quickly pulled himself together- especially when she said she would be able to fix him up with glue instead of stitches. He did so well that Dr. Deitline gave him a 'certificate of bravery' when we were leaving. Way to go, Daniel! I was thinking all afternoon how shocking it is for this to be his first 'accident'. That's pretty good for a little boy as rough & tumble as he is! I'm hoping we can make another six years before our next one! :)
