Laura Ann joined the preschool choir at church this semester & has been practicing on Sunday nights. She was so excited the first night of practice because she thought the performance was that night! Also from the first practice, she was very concerned with her 'costume' for the performance. She really, really wanted to be a princess and was quite disappointed when she found out that she was going to be a hiker on 'The Truth Trail'. Anyway, she finally got over that, but was all upset again the morning of the performance when we got her BROWN tshirt to wear. She doesn't like tshirts anyway, but brown- 'yuck!' She said, "Everyone will think I'm a boy!" It took awhile to convince her that wearing a bow & some jewelry would make her look very much like a girl, but I finally did. Laura Ann was VERY excited about her solo & had been asked every week on the way to practice, 'Is this the night everybody is coming to watch me?' When the day finally arrived, she was beyond excited! Gran had spent the night the night before so she was already here & cooked a yummy supper for us before Laura Ann's big debut. Big Daddy & Nanna joined us for supper too. While we were eating, Laura Ann announced that "This is MY BIG DAY!" When Laura Ann finished eating I told her to go to her room & get dressed. She came out wearing about every piece of jewelry that she owns! I took at least half of it off & let her wear the rest.....which was still quite a bit! It was finally time to head to the church. The program was just precious and Laura Ann did a fantastic job with her solo........'Jesus Loves Me'. She was SO, SO, SO excited afterwards. Big Daddy told her that she was a STAR & she loved that. She called herself a 'Star' for the rest of the night! And for the record, she got tons of compliments on her jewelry and absolutely no one confused her for a boy! :)
