Kids of Compassion Easter Egg Hunt

We hosted the first ever Kids of Compassion Easter Egg Hunt tonight & it was a blast! We kicked the evening off with a pizza supper & then Amy read the Easter story to the kids. We did a typical Easter Egg hunt but decided to use the money in the prize eggs to buy bunnies or chicks through World Vision for families in need. I explained the 'rules' of the hunt to everyone and then the whole crew was off! They all did a great job finding their prize eggs with a little help from some windmills. When the hunt was finished, each child chose whether to buy a bunny or chick & turned their money in the designated basket.....in return they got either a bunny or chick sucker. We ended up with $80.00! It was a great experience & the older ones are really starting to catch on to the importance of giving. After the hunt, the kids indulged in the content of their eggs, along with rice krispie treats, brownies, Easter suckers & popsicles. They ran wild until well after dark & had so much fun! We are already looking forward to next year!
