You gotta love when the nurse at Paine greets you on the phone with, "Mrs. James, I know you are tired of hearing from me, BUT Daniel has had ANOTHER accident......" So the story is that they were having a hula hoop contest in PE, which Daniel was intent on winning. He said that they have to hula hoop on their left arm, right arm, waist & neck. The hula hoop got away from him when he was doing it around his neck. I guess due to the speed, it kind of burned these 2 little cuts above his eyes?? Anyway, the nurse thought that they could possibly need some glue & wanted me to come look at them. We decided that although they are some good little cuts, they didn't need any glue & thankfully avoided a 3rd trip to the trauma room at the pediatrician this semester! Unfortunately, Daniel had to drop out of the contest when his injury occurred and he didn't win. Who ever heard of a hula hoop accident? Daniel may not be able to win the hula contest, but he definitely has a special talent for getting injured.......can he get an award for that?
