So, what has Papa been up to? Oh, not much, just building a HOUSE!! He has pretty much lived in Gulf Shores for the past several months to build a house & all of his hard work has turned into a beautiful house. Daniel & I made a whirlwind trip there this weekend to help Gran pick out some furniture for the house. Daniel got to help Papa do a little work on the house & even got to use Papa's drill! The entire day Saturday was a blur that included multiple furniture stores, fabric swatches, measurements, arguments (Papa & I do not have the same taste in furniture), an ice cream break, lunch, the Shark Store, aka Sovenier City (to reward Daniel for his awesome behavior while shopping) & revisits to furniture stores. It was quite exhausting, but we got a lot accomplished & I think Gran was relieved to have it all done, well not all, but a good chunk of it! We had planned to go out to dinner, but were all so tired by that evening that we ended up just getting carry out. We had a great time, even if it was a short trip!

Forgot to mention that Ralph accompanied us on our trip, of course & since it was his birthday, we had a pancake birthday breakfast this morning (planned by Daniel last night) complete with Gran's pancakes. Gran even made Ralph a plate of pancakes & sang Happy Birthday to him. I'm a little alarmed at how rapidly Ralph is aging- he celebrates a birthday about every other week!

It was really nice to get to spend some one on one time with Daniel. We had lots of good talks & laughs on the road. Dan & Laura Ann had lots of fun at home. Laura Ann informed me that they went on two dates- one to Chick-fil-a & one to Cracker Barrel (Laura Ann's favorite- she LOVES pancakes). Cracker Barrel is also a favorite because it has toys & she came home with some new jewelry! She also had lots of fun at Matthew's birthday party. She & Dan enjoyed their one on one time too. While it's fun to split up sometimes, we were all excited this afternoon to be back together!
