Daniel wrote a sentence on the white board last week all by himself- for the first time that I know of! He's been copying sentences, but he made this one up on his own & wrote it without looking at anything. I know this is age appropriate, but I am just amazed at how much he has learned this year. He could barely write his write his name at the beginning of the year! His sentence is "Me and my dog went out to play in the snow." What he wrote is "me my dog dog (a bunch of letters I couldn't figure out) to sno." He even put an extra large period at the end! I underlined his words so you can tell what he wrote. We do have to work on left to right alignment for words & sentences. He doesn't do that when he writes on lined paper, but give him a blank space & he isn't sure which direction to go! :) He also drew a picture of him & his dog in the snow below his sentence. While he was writing about his dog, Laura Ann went & got her dog for the photo op!
