Birthdays are always fun with kids in the house! The birthday boy got to choose the restaurant for dinner & he chose Cajun Steamer. We had a great meal & many laughs at all of Laura Ann's references to "shra-ump'. She asked the waitress as soon as she came to our table, "Do you have any shra- ump?" After regaining her composure, the waitress informed her that she was in the right restaurant for some shrimp! The birthday boy also requested a chocolate cake with chocolate icing, so we had a yummy dessert when we got home. We sang 3 times so that Daniel & Laura Ann could have a turn to blow out the candles too. We established ahead of time that we would take turns, to avoid the fight that broke out last week on my birthday & I am happy to report a peaceful celebration took place tonight! Daniel asked Dan how old he is & Dan responded, "I'm 44 & that's really old." Daniel said, "It's ok Dad, you still look the same to me!" His innocence is too precious. Oh the joy! I really dread the birthdays when they don't care about blowing out candles. I know it is coming, because time is flying, so I am thoroughly enjoying all of our spit covered cakes for now! :)
P.S. Dan really liked his birthday card, complete with a recording of Bill Engvall. It involved preparation h & I'll leave it at that. Yes, we admit we're rednecks.
