First of all, I just have to say how extremely grateful I am to all of the Veterans who have defended this great nation & all of it's freedoms. I don't slow down often enough to pay respect to all of those who have sacrificed for me to have the freedom that I enjoy everyday. Because of that, yesterday was so refreshing to be able visit with some Veterans & thank them for their service. A friend had the great idea to take the kids to Hearthstone assisted living home & visit with the residents & maybe some Vets. We met here first to make cards & then headed over to the home to pass them out along with some candy. We were super excited to find 15 Veteran's living there & got to hear a few of their stories. What an amazing group of people with limitless patriotism, loyalty & courage. It's no wonder that they are referred to as 'the greatest generation'! The kids did a great job socializing & hopefully learned something along the way. Happy Veteran's Day!
