We made a trip to Pine Hill Farm this afternoon to pick out our Christmas tree. Daniel & Laura Ann had a great time running through the trees & visiting the reindeer. As always, Dan picked the perfect tree & it has our house smelling like Christmas! We all enjoyed hot chocolate & chili for supper when we got home. Let the trimming begin!

Movie Time!
The Christmas Season has officially kicked off at the James' house. We broke out the popcorn & Christmas PJs tonight for the first (of many) viewing of the Polar Express. Daniel & Laura Ann were glued the entire movie. Laura Ann squealed when Santa walked out to present the first gift of Christmas! :)
ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
Surprise MATT!!
Tide fans getting ready for the Iron Bowl
Dan & Matt were all smiles when they got home from the game

Dan surprised Matt on Thursday with Iron Bowl tickets for his birthday. I have to say I am impressed because Dan gets way too excited about surprises & can never keep them a secret, but he pulled this one off! They left early Friday morning & spent the day in Auburn. They had a great time there, while the rest of us sat in front of the TV at Nanna & Big Daddy's cheering on the TIDE. What a game! ROLL TIDE!
Beauty & the Beast
So excited to see Caroline!
The Beast & Belle
Trying to wake up the Beast
2 Cinderellas & Santa watching Beauty & the Beast
We got to Douglasville on Wednesday night & Matt, Natalie & Caroline didn't arrive until Thursday morning, so it was a long wait for Daniel & Laura Ann. They have been looking forward to seeing Caroline for quite a while & were beside themselves when she finally arrived. I would say they spent 75% of our 2 day visit playing Beauty & the Beast. Caroline was Belle, Daniel was the Beast & Laura Ann said she was Snow White. I'm not sure how Snow White fit into the story, but as always, Laura Ann did her very best to keep up & fit in with the older two, which sometimes resulted in a quarrel. Bless her heart- maybe she'll get to be Belle next time! The girls were constantly changing in & out of all of the princess dresses & Daniel kept a blanket around for the Beast's cape. My favorite part was when the Beast would go into his deep sleep & it usually took a while for Belle & Snow White to wake him! :) Daniel thought it would be fun to play Santa, so he of course had to have something to wear. He came up with Laura Ann's red coat & his black socks. I asked him about red pants & he said he was just going to pretend he was wearing them- works for me! He also filled a pillowcase with toys, but Caroline & Laura Ann weren't too big on waiting for him to decide when it was time to pass them out! What a fun Thanksgiving. They are already looking forward to playing with Caroline at Christmas!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
We spent Thanksgiving in Douglasville with the James'. Daniel & Laura Ann had so much fun playing with Caroline. They spent A LOT of time playing Beauty & the Beast, so I'm devoting another post to that topic- see next post! Big Daddy kept them entertained with lots of silly games, swinging on the swing & taking them on a nature hike & picnic. Patsy & Granny, as always, prepared a spread of absolutely DELICIOUS food. We got to visit with Pop, Granny, 'Miss' Leigh Anne & Katherine too. What a blessing it is to have such a wonderful family!

Pumpkin Pie
Daniel, Laura Ann & I made our no-bake pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving on Tuesday night. They especially loved licking the bowl after we were finished!

Laura Ann's Thanksgiving Feast
Laura Ann's class had their Thanksgiving Feast on Tuesday. They dressed as Indians & were such a cute group. I caught them on the playground, minus all of their Indian 'gear'. I'm sure Ms. Becky & Ms. Angel think that all of the girls have terrible moms- it seems that none of us sent jackets on Tuesday, so all of the girls had to borrow jackets from the stash in the office! Laura Ann had just taken hers off when I took the picture. I promise teachers, that we'll all 'get with the program' next week! :)
GAME Day
The Rocket Class had game day on Monday. Daniel had so much fun playing games with all of his friends!

Daniel's Dream......
I just tucked Daniel in & we were talking about what a fun day we had at Bryant Denny. Daniel said, "Mom, when I was running out of that tunnel, I just closed my eyes & I dreamed that I was a REAL football player." I guess I already knew that he did this, but hearing him say that just melted my heart. He really did have one of his best days ever!
Big AL's Kids Club
Daniel & Laura Ann joined Big AL's Kids Club this year. They got to go to Bryant Denny today to tour the locker room & play on the football field. Dan & I tagged along! To say that we had a blast would be an understatement! Daniel James was in absolute 'awe' from start to finish (& his dad wasn't far behind him!). He ran out of the tunnel, 'like a real football player' & then spent the next hour & a half playing football on the field. The Blakes came too & Daniel & Tyler had a great time tackling each other over & over again. I really think Daniel spent more time on the ground than on his feet, hence the green knees. Laura Ann spent some time playing in the inflatable & then joined in on the football fun. Big AL made an appearance & we got to have pictures made with him too. When we were finally able to literally drag Daniel out of the stadium, we went out to the front of the stadium & got some pics with our National Championship coaches & then had a very late lunch. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Aunt Beth
Aunt Beth has stayed with us for the last few days while Jack has been in the hospital having knee replacement surgery. He is doing well & may even get to go home tomorrow. Daniel & Laura Ann have thoroughly enjoyed the 'extra' attention!

Broken China?
Not yet, but I know who to blame when it happens- the headless Woody. I found him today hiding in my china cabinet! :)
