Daniel & Laura Ann had a great time trick or treating in our neighborhood tonight. Daniel dressed as Superman & Laura Ann as Sleeping Beauty. We actually covered the whole neighborhood this year instead of just a few houses in years past- another sign that they are older! Laura Ann was so funny! She got the 'trick or treat' & 'thank you', only she said them backwards. She would say 'thank you' when the door was opened & then 'trick or treat' when we were leaving! She was also confused about trunk or treat. I tried to explain the difference & finally gave up! So many of our neighbors got 'trunk or treat' instead of 'trick or treat'! We got to see some of our favorite neighbors, the Coueys & Mama June. The great thing about living around lots of grandparents is that they go all out with treat bags for each child, instead of just a few pieces of candy! And oh, the chocolate......every house gave out chocolate- yet another reason why I love Misty Ridge! :)

Pumpkin Decor
We cheated this year with pumpkin decor instead of pumpkin carving. It was quick, easy, clean and super fun. Daniel & Laura Ann both loved their finished pumpkins. My guilt isn't too bad because they both carved pumpkins in their classes at school, so I guess they got the best of both worlds! :)

FBCT Trunk or Treat
We had a great time at Trunk or Treat tonight. Daniel & Laura Ann got lots of compliments on their costumes & so many people called me 'creative'. I would love to take the credit, but as usual at our house, the creativity came straight from Daniel, every single detail. I just played along. So, thanks Daniel, for making your mom appear creative! Ha! Clark & Lois had great time on all of the rides & LOADED up on some candy! They also enjoyed seeing some of their friends dressed in their costumes. Too bad we don't dress up & get together like this more often! :)
Introducing......
........Clark Kent & Lois Lane! Daniel has wanted to be a million things this year & changed his mind often, but Superman was always close to the top. Laura Ann has stayed consistent that she wanted to be Sleeping Beauty. Sometime last week, Daniel found his Superman lunchbox that has a picture of Clark Kent & was inspired to be Clark Kent. He also has a Superman movie with Clark Kent & Lois Lane. He studied the lunchbox & specifically asked for each & every piece of his suit, down to the name tag & file folder, just like Clark Kent in the picture. We decided that Laura Ann would be a great Lois Lane & began working on changing her mind. It took a few days, but we eventually convinced her. And I must say that she made a great Lois Lane. They both loved dressing up & all the details about their outfits. Lois actually didn't wear glasses, but when Clark got his, Lois insisted on having some too! So, here's to Superman & Superwoman........
Roll Ups
We rolled Laura Ann's hair this afternoon to transform her into Lois Lane. She cracked me up because she kept calling the rollers 'roll ups'. "Mom, I love my roll ups." & "Is it time to take the roll ups out yet?"

"The Wrong Girl"
I had to post what my sweet, precious Princess Laura Ann did at school today. When I picked her up, her teacher said, "She really let somebody have it today!" She then proceded to tell me that they were in the soft play room with an older class & that a little boy who often hits & pushes chose Laura Ann for his target today. She said that usually the girls cry & run to the teacher, but when he pushed Laura Ann, she went right back at him & shoved him so hard that he fell down! Mrs. Becky said that she didn't say a word because he finally got what he deserved by 'picking on the wrong girl', aka, my sweet, precious Princess Laura Ann! I asked her about it when we got home & she said, "He push me, I push him back". I'm glad to know that her 'spit-fire' attitude is going to good use somewhere! I guess this would be a good time to say thank goodness for big brothers (from whom she learned all of her 'moves')!

The Great Pumpkin Patch
We made the trek to The Great Pumpkin Patch today after school. Daniel & Laura Ann both had a great time. We packed it all into our visit- the inflatables (which Laura Ann loved this year, the fear is gone!), the petting zoo, pony rides, the hayride to the pumpkin patch & the hay maze. We came home with 2 more pumpkins to add to our ever growing collection! :)

The Adventure Bible
The Kindergarteners were presented with an Adventure Bible this morning at church. Daniel was super excited to get it- a big upgrade from his toddler bible. He is already asking to read it. I pray that he will remain this eager & excited for the Word of God throughout his life.
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16 &17
Another year.....
.......OLDER! I can't believe it is almost my birthday again! I have had a wonderful weekend celebrating already- at the tailgate w/ Nanna's homemade coconut cake & then today Gran brought John's BBQ (my favorite) for lunch! At least I don't have to worry about blowing out 33 candles with a 3 & 5 year old around. In fact, it was an all out fight today at lunch over who was going to blow out my candles first! Hello, isn't it MY birthday? Maybe I should be having energy bars instead of birthday cake to get through these preschool years!!!!! Joking aside, I am blessed beyond measure with a wonderful family & am so very thankful for all of them, especially the preschoolers! :)
Survival.......
......is how Nanna described our game yesterday & I have to agree. I am just thankful for the win. We did have a super fun time tailgating though. Daniel was especially excited to see Leigh Anne again & had an extra treat b/c Carrie came too. (Carrie, I somehow managed not to get any pics of you! Were you hiding from my camera? Leigh Anne, please send me some of your pics!) Laura Ann stayed home for some shopping & baking fun with Gran. They had so much fun that Gran was totally oblivious to how close the game was until church this morning. At least 2 people in our family weren't close to a heart attack with 4 seconds to go in the 4th quarter, actually, make that 3, because Daniel slept through the 4th quarter until I woke him up screaming! We will definitely be making Big Cody hair with the playdoh this week in honor of his blocked fieldgoals! ROLL TIDE ROLL!
