We went to the WEE Center Open House tonight & got to see what Daniel & Laura Ann have been doing the past several weeks. They were both excited to show us their classrooms & to visit w/ their teachers & friends. We are very thankful to have such a wonderful preschool for Daniel & Laura Ann to be involved in!

......and Papa (a little late)! We celebrated Gran's 60th Birthday today at Sam & Heather's (and Papa's too a little late since he has been at the beach since his birthday). Sam & Heather cooked/grilled a wonderful lunch & then we all enjoyed a yummy strawberry cake from Edgars. Daniel & Laura Ann always love playing with Kate. I think Laura Ann actually managed to make it the entire visit without hitting or pushing, so maybe she is making some progress (I won't count her locking herself in the bathroom!:) Anyway, it was a fun afternoon. We love you Gran & hope you had a great day!

We finally made it to a Bama game yesterday & in spite of the rain, had a great day! Our tailgate moved indoors to the Presbyterian Student Center, where we park. Daniel & Laura Ann had a great time competing for Tyler's attention. They all ended up having a pregame 'wrestle' & I think Laura Ann came out the winner. The rain finally turned into a drizzle in time for us to walk to the stadium & then completely stopped by game time. Daniel & Laura Ann were thrilled to get to our seats & find that Leigh Anne was sitting with us. She was much help in keeping them entertained during the game. Laura Ann had lots of fun cheering & watching the band. Daniel enjoyed some of the game, but spent most of his time around our ankles with his cars. Dipping dots, cokes & hotdogs helped pass the time too. Bama won the game, which made the fun day even better. They were both asleep before we got out of Tuscaloosa, so the drive home was quiet & peaceful!

Several weeks ago, Heather & I got Laura Ann & Kate together in their matching dresses to try and make a picture to give Gran for her birthday. We were completely unsuccessful until we brought out the tea set & that kept them occupied long enough to snap a few pictures. Kate loved the tea set & even fussed a little when we put it up. Today is Gran's birthday & we gave her the pictures, so I am finally able to post them!

Our sweet friend, Tyler, had a Roll Tide birthday party this afternoon complete with an appearance from Big Al! Daniel & Laura Ann were THRILLED to see him up close. They both gave him hugs & high fives & were more than happy to have their picture made with him. Happy 5th Birthday Tyler! We had a blast at your party!

Daniel & Anna Whitley seem to have no problem whatsoever with befriending the enemy! Ha! Anna Whitley is Daniel's most FAVORITE friend EVER! He came from school on the first day talking about her & hasn't stopped since. I think he loves her because she plays batgirl with him on the playground while he is batman. His teacher, Mrs. Misty, says they are inseparable at school & Anna Whitley's family reports that she loves Daniel too. Since we go to church with Anna Whitley, we get to see her on Sunday & Wednesday night as well- all the better! One of Anna's big brother's had a tennis match on Friday that she didn't want to go to, so she came home from school w/ us & spent the afternoon. Daniel was beyond thrilled! They had a great time & didn't have a single argument in the 5 hours she was here! Other than the Auburn bit, I think she's pretty great too! On a side note, her mom Lori, is one of my heros that I mentioned in a post a couple of months ago- she's the mom that actually brings the hamsters home from the pet store & has the great stories (hamster loose in the house & hamster delivered babies the day after we brought her home). So, I guess we can let the Auburn bit slide for Anna Whitley- she's a keeper! :)

Going Private........

Because of a random comment on my blog from a total stranger, I have decided to make it private, by invitation only. The comment was nothing bad, it was actually a nice comment from a mother who has a blog similar to mine. But it made me realize that any random person out there could stumble across the blog & maybe that isn't so safe. Not to mention that I just wrote a paper over the summer on Cyber Safety for my technology class. So, I will be making the change in a couple of weeks & will send invitations to those in my email address book. Out with bang! We enjoyed another BEAUTIFUL day on the beach! Daniel & Laura Ann had fun in the waves again today with Big Daddy. Laura Ann & Dan headed back a little sooner than the rest of us for some pool time. After a quick lunch, we went to the Sugar Shack for ice cream & candy (see next post). Daniel & Laura Ann enjoyed every single lick & drip- literally. It has been a fabulous trip. I am sad to leave tomorrow, but have to admit that I am ready to get 2 kids home & back into our routine. We are currently cheering on the TIDE & will hopefully be able to pull out a win, which would make the drive home tomorrow much better! :)
