"The Best Valentine's Day Ever!"

And no Valentine's Day is complete without balloons and boxes of chocolate

Daniel and I kicked off Valentine's Day with a party at school. Besides the ever exciting exchanging of Valentine cards, the hit of the party was the Valentine card cookies.....so cute! When I got home, Dan took Laura Ann & I to lunch at one of her favorite spots, Cafe on Main where we enjoyed some yummy home cookin'. I had promised Laura Ann earlier in the day that we would do some baking & she was soooo excited about it. She chose to do cupcakes instead of cookies. She did them completely by herself except for the oven part & the icing. I started on some chocolate covered strawberries for Dan when we finished the cupcakes & she took over with those too. She is really good in the kitchen! We had the best afternoon & she kept on saying over & over, "Mom, this is the best Valentine's Day EVER!". Nothing fancy for her, just a little one on one baking time! Daniel had lots of fun when he got home showing us all of his Valentine treats from school and he most graciously shared some candy with Laura Ann. He had basketball practice, so I took advantage of that hour to prepare a gourmet Valentine meal for us. Dan & I had leftover roast beef sandwiches from Gran's fabulous lunch yesterday & the kids had pbj sandwiches. I decided to get really 'fancy' with pink lemonade and a heart shaped cookie cutter.....at least Daniel & Laura Ann thought it was fancy. We had an extra special reason to celebrate love this year (see next post) and it really was THE BEST VALENTINE'S DAY EVER!!!
