Loading up on some candy
Tyler & Daniel
Wow, what a night!! FBCT decided to scale down Trunk or Treat this year in an effort to focus more resources on the 4th of July Freedom Celebration and because almost all of the other area churches host a trunk or treat too. So, our Trunk or Treat just consisted of trunks this year. After we had hit a few trunks & the kids were satisfied with some candy in their bags, Dan, Kip & Jason decided it would be a great idea to split from T or T & us all go out to dinner. That would be a party of 12 plus the twins! I knew from the start, this was a shaky plan (too many people, sugar filled kids, it was too late, etc.), but went along with it anyway. We ended up at Jim n Nicks with the Blakes. The Willoughbys didn't make it which ended up to be a good thing! We had to wait forever to be seated while our sugar filled children bounced off the walls, literally. Well, at least Daniel & Tyler did. We finally got seated and waited forever to get our drinks, then a long time for our food.......you get the picture. During our wait time, the kids continued to 'bounce', Daniel spilled his drink, we had a potty parade, Laura Ann shed her Tinkerbell costume.......yes, she was in only a sweater that came to her waist & tights. The adults were all conversing about what a bad idea this was when the food finally arrived to our table of very hungry people. And that's when the fun really started. Just a few bites into our meal, Tyler announces that he isn't feeling well and proceeds to vomit, luckily Lauren was able use the "special mom talent" and caught some of it in her napkin. Jason got him up from the table to head outside when the second wave came & went all over the dining room floor. I can only imagine what the people all around us were thinking before the vomit, but afterwards.......I won't even go there. The Blakes made their departure, much to Matthew's dismay because he was still eating- poor baby! I hadn't realized that Laura Ann was still eating too until she asked me, "Mommy, I'm REALLY full, how much more do I have to eat?" My traditional response is 3 or 4 more bites, but on this night, I said, "NONE!!! Don't eat another bite!" She looked at me really strangely, but was relieved that she didn't have to eat more. We paid & left our mostly full plates on the table. I'm sure they were as ready for us to leave as we were to be out of there! Like I said, WHAT A NIGHT!! It was so bad that the only thing to do was cry or laugh, so we laughed, mostly to keep from crying!! There are always little detail things that I remember about each holiday, birthday, etc. with the kids. This Halloween will always be remembered as the one where Tyler puked in Jim n Nicks- thanks for the memory Tyler! Ha! I should note that he wasn't sick anymore after that, so it probably was just too much candy. At least that is what I told Daniel & Laura Ann all week when they were asking for more candy........remember what happened to Tyler when he ate too much candy!!! :)
