Just another day........

.......of Laura Ann's naptime adventures. Saturday, while Laura Ann was in her room during nap/quiet time she decided to put 1/2 a tube of Vaseline in her hair (she got it from the bathroom w/o my knowing it). It was a huge MESS! I washed her hair about 18-20 times throughout the afternoon/evening with just about every kind of liquid soap/shampoo/detergent in our house (is there a trick to this that I don't know about?). The last 15-20 washes, I used the liquid dishwashing soap & that seemed to do the job. I took some good picks of her greasy hair & the MULTIPLE washes only to realize that my memory card wasn't in my camera later. So, I leave you with a picture of the culprit & the solution. I'm literally afraid of what she will come up with next!

Buzz is Back!

To Infinite and "D"eyond............Most of the summer has been filled with Spiderman, Batman & Superman, but Buzz Lightyear made an appearance today. He is really good at 'flying' off the end of my bed. I have to admit that I was really glad to see him- he is my favorite superhero! :)

A New Helmet!

Dan & Daniel HAD to go for ride this morning to try out Daniel's new helmet. I have never seen a little boy so proud of anything! The "ride" is obviously MUCH better with a cool helmet and that is a good thing since it is a requirement from his mommy! :)

Miss Patty Cake Pajama Party

So excited to see Miss Patty Cake

Girls Night Out

Showing Miss Patty Cake her doll

How excited is Miss Patty Cake to have her picture made with Laura Ann?? :)

Gran, Laura Ann & me went to see Miss Patty Cake tonight & had a super fun pajama party! Laura Ann was soooo excited to go. She would say all day today, "I so ecited to see Miss Patty Cake!!" She was shy when we first got there, but it didn't take long for her to loosen up & sing & dance. After the show, we stood in a very long line, but it was worth it to finally get to see Miss Patty Cake. Miss Patty Cake autographed Laura Ann's doll & gave her a great big hug. We missed Daniel & all of our friends, who had fun at the Hewitt Huskie football game tonight instead!

Laura Ann's First Day

Ready to go!

Getting a Monkey Name Tag from Ms. Angel

Getting a little encouragement from Ms. Angel

Laura Ann had her first day in the Monkey class at the Wee Center today. She did great going in & was all smiles when I picked her up. Just like the new backback last year, she was really excited about her new lunchbox. She carried it all day long yesterday & was thrilled to put her lunch in it this morning, then insisted on zipping it by herself. I have decided that her teacher, Ms. Angel, should already win an award- she is 35/36 weeks pregnant & squatted down to the floor to give every student a hug this morning & welcome them. When Laura Ann was a little hestitant, she picked her up, gave her a big hug & helped her find something in the room to do- Wow! I would've given her a pass on the squatting & picking up, but she endured anyway. Ms. Becky is the assistant teacher in Laura Ann's class & is going to fill in while Ms. Angel is out with her baby. She is super sweet too. With two successful 'first days' behind us, we are looking forward to another great year at the WEE Center!

Girls Weekend at the Beach = Total Relaxation

I have to start by saying a HUGE THANK YOU to my husband, who kept both kids all weekend by himself! Dan, of all the daddies involved in our trip, you were the only one who flew solo with no grandparent help, so you win the best daddy award! When I dropped Daniel off at school this morning, I got lots of reports from Dan's weekend: 'I saw Dan at Kidsmarket', 'I saw Dan at Chickfila', 'I saw Dan at the playground', 'I saw Dan at church & Laura Ann even had a matching bow!'- way to go Dan! Sounds like Daniel & Laura Ann had a fun weekend too!

As for me, I spent 3 wonderful days with great friends enjoying peaceful travels there & back, gorgeous views of the ocean, beautiful sunsets, delicious food, sleeping late, great conversations (that we actually got to finish) and LOTS of laughs ('frenchie', 2 tan blondes & their 3 pale friends, a trashy wedding photo session, and 'leprechan' to name a few!:) I had a blast girls & until next time, I will be embracing my 'paleness'! Ha! Love you all!

Yet another reason........

er='0' alt='' />

......why I LOVE Whole Foods Grocery Store- the kiddie grocery carts! I especially like the 2nd picture of Laura Ann checking out the selection of 'Ugly Juice', aka apple cidar vinegar, which at the moment is helping to illiminate smart talking & whining at our house! :)

Blast Off!!

The Rocket at our house blasted off this morning into his first day of 5K. He was a little nervous (see the pics w/ his tongue rubbing the inside of his cheek & bottom lip- his nervous gesture), but also excited. He went right in, put up his backpack & lunchbox, sat down at the table & got busy. I love the picture of him at the table- notice the other two little boys, Reagan & Taylor covering their ears- there was one friend who was having a hard time saying goodbye to her mom & was being quite LOUD about it! Ha! Laura Ann was with us & kept saying, 'She misses her Mommy!' I really felt sorry for that mom because we have been there too. He was all smiles when we picked him up & full of details about his day- he stayed on starry eyes, that the little girl finally stopped crying, he shared his crackers with Emily(a new friend? at lunch, he learned from Ms. Misty not to run or scream in the room, he had fun on the playground, etc. He is such a BIG boy! One first day of school down, one to go tomorrow for Laura Ann......

Bathtime Fun!

I came home from a fabulous girls' weekend this evening to find two happy children that apparently 'survived' the weekend perfectly well without me. Thanks Dan for giving me the time to relax with my friends & for providing such an entertaining weekend for Daniel & Laura Ann all by yourself (sorry- Daddy didn't find time to snap any pics :)

These two rarely take a bath together, but were total 'goof balls' tonight when they had the chance. Who knew sticking out your tongue at each other could be so hysterical?????

The Lego Store

We celebrated meeting our teachers with a trip the new Lego store at the Galleria. We enjoyed lunch with Dan first & then multiple rides on multiple escalators (what is it with my kids & escalators??) & then on to the Lego store. We left w/ a pirate & soldier lego set- the TINIEST pieces I've ever seen, but the box said ages 5-7!! Daniel & I spent about 30 minutes this afternoon putting them all together- not sure how long it will last with pieces that tiny, but it was fun to put it together. Now we just need the pirate ship to put the pirate in, but that will have to wait for another day!

My Little Rocket

Daniel has finally arrived in the MUCH anticipated ROCKET class!! He has looked forward to the Rocket class for as long as he's been at the WEE Center- apparently it's the coolest class to be in (the only 5K class). We are all super excited, especially Daniel, that Ms. Misty (our good friend) is going to be his teacher. Ms. Misty is a great friend & mommy to her 3 sweet boys & we know that she will be an awesome teacher too. It has been a blessing to our family to watch God heal her physically in a mighty way these last few months from a terrible disease. Ms. Misty- we love you already, are so thankful to see you healthy again & are looking forward to a GREAT school year!!

Meeting Ms. Angel & Ms. Becky

We went to the WEE Center this morning to meet Laura Ann's teachers- Ms. Angel & Ms. Becky- both so, so sweet. They are the monkey class, so LA will be a 'monkey' all year! Laura Ann had lots of fun playing at the bean & rice table & was super excited to see buddies Alex & Alleigh, who are also in her class. Laura Ann lit up when she saw Ms. Teresa from last year & RAN to give her a big hug- I can't believe she has moved off the baby/toddler hallway already!!

Girl's Great Day / Boy's Big Adventures

Yesterday Dan & Daniel met some buddies Curt & Cooper for a day of 4wheeler fun. They packed lunches & took off. Daniel & Cooper had a blast riding & playing while they stopped for lunch. (Ok Dan, maybe the 4wheeler was a tiny little bit for Daniel. I have to admit it after I saw how much fun he had yesterday!) While the boys were away, the girls stayed home & played! Laura Ann & I spent the morning watching Strawberry Shortcake & tagging Kidsmarket clothes. Then we headed to the Three Eared Rabbit for lunch & ice cream- YUMMY!! After lunch we stopped at the library to get yet another Strawberry Shortcake movie & a new Fancy Nancy book- fun times!!

Dan's New Toy

Daniel & Laura Ann spent the weekend at Nanna & Big Daddy's & had loads of fun in the pool- so much so, that Laura Ann has a green streak in her hair!! (Any advice on how to get it out?) I got reports from Big Daddy that they were both jumping off the diving board & SWIMMING to the ladder by themselves! Yay Daniel & Laura Ann!! While they were away, Dan bought a new toy (see pic above) that he has been wanting forever. He could hardly wait for Daniel to get home so they could go for a ride, because after all, he bought the 4wheeler for Daniel (good one, Dan, but I'm not falling for it!!!!:)

First Date

Daniel & Laura Ann emerged tonight all dressed up & Daniel said that they were going on a date. Laura Ann quickly added that they were getting married. I encouraged her to go on the date before getting married & thankfully Daniel was in agreement with me & insisted that they were only going on a date, not getting married. He said that they were going to Burger King & to a Batman Play. Sounds like a perfect date to me. I would, however, prefer for both of them to wear less revealing clothes (or just clothes in general where Daniel is concerned) on a date! :)
