Daniel & I have just finished reading the Beverly Cleary series, The Mouse & the Motorcycle, Ralph S. Mouse & Runway Ralph. We took a mini field trip to the pet store today to see a mouse like Ralph & a hamster like Chum (another character). We will eventually make it to the zoo to see these critters, but petsmart is practically in our backyard, so it was convenient! Several of them were quite active while we there, so Daniel & Laura Ann got enjoy a good little show. We came home & had mouse cheese (swiss) & crackers for lunch. At least that was the plan, but they didn't like the mouse cheese, so we had pb&j sandwiches instead. This is just as well, because pb&j is Ralph's FAVORITE food in the books! If I were a really good mom, we would have brought a critter home, but Dan strictly limited us to only VISITING them! :) Here's a shout out to my friend Lori Blake, who has great "hamsters loose in the house" stories, among "the hamster had babies the day after we brought her home" stories! You are the super mom!
