.....and Daniel & Laura Ann are outside playing! We have been blessed with two days of rain, but that also means not being able to be outside, which is difficult in the summertime. So, this morning we decided that rain was no reason not to play outside & headed out. I tried to get them to wear their swimsuits, but they both insisted on wearing their raincoats. They had a blast. It was like the splash park in our own front yard. Mr. Couey was even coaxed outside to join them, but it was after I had put the camera away!

Brownies Anyone?
Daniel, Laura Ann, Emily, Reese, Sophie, Ann Claire, Kate
(William didn't make the group shot)
We had fun playing with the Bryants, Bozemans & Willoughbys on Wednesday. Laura Ann was in heaven in all of Sophie & Ann Claire's dress up clothes. I lost count of how many times she changed clothes. Daniel had fun too (although he won't admit that he does like to play with 'girl' toys). He brought a car with him, just in case he needed to prove his point. The highlight of our visit was when we looked in the kitchen & noticed that William & Ann Claire had moved the brownies to the kid table & were helping themselves- so funny! A few others joined them while we grabbed our cameras.
Weeeeeee!
I found this in the kitchen the other day & Laura Ann's explanation was, "my babies are 'swiding'"! :)
Fun at the Playground
I'm back- yea! I finished my class on Tuesday & am so glad to be back to my 'normal' life! After some grief from a great grandparent (I won't name names, Granny), I am going to update the blog, although there are very few pics to update with!
We made several trips to the playground in the past 2 weeks during our 'cool' snap of weather. It was in the low 80s & fabulous! Daniel can finally go all the way across on the monkey bars by himself & Laura Ann can climb the big, straight up rock wall by herself- some big playground milestones in the James family! They both love the swings & would stay in them the entire time we're there, but I can only push for so long......

Sending Alison to Amarillo
We met the Wises, their Mimi (Charlotte), Alison & Ian in Moulton at Gran & Papa's on Friday to see Alison one last time before she makes the big move to Amarillo. Gran cooked a yummy supper & Charlotte brought my favorite- peanut butter pie. We all enjoyed a great meal & then spent the rest of the night catching up & reminiscing. The kids had a great time playing outside with Papa & gathering veggies from his garden. When it got dark, Papa broke out the story books & all of his 'animation'. Sweet Ian just took it all in & went the flow. He is so layed back, just like his mama, dimples & all! :) Alison- you, Fred & Ian are in our prayers as you move- Texas is gaining one precious family!!

He's Home!!!
Daniel came home from Nanna & Big Daddy's today to a little sister who was THRILLED to see him! I didn't realize how much she had missed him, because she really hasn't talked about him that much, other than to ask where he was a few times. He caught her by surprise when he walked in the door this evening & her little face just lit up & she starting laughing & squealing. They ran to each other & hugged. Daniel was happy to see her too & told her that he had missed her. It was the sweetest thing I've ever seen! I so wish I had it on video. It didn't take long for them to fall back into their usual routine of arguing, but it was a great moment while it lasted. I've missed you terribly too, Daniel & am so glad to have you back home!
Another Naptime Pic
Laura Ann rarely takes a nap anymore. Today, about 5:00, she sat down to watch a movie & this is how I found her a couple of minutes later. :)

Spa Treatment
Gran gave Laura Ann her first mani/pedi yesterday (in color, at least). I have painted her nails w/ clear polish several times, but she has been asking for pink, so pink she got! Just when we thought she couldn't get any prissier (is that a word?)..........We took Gran to lunch today before she left to go back home. Thanks to her Laura Ann is totally & completely rotten. I'm sure Daniel is in the same condition after spending this week at Nanna & Big Daddy's!
Happy 30th Birthday Jonathan!
Jonathan- thanks for giving us a reason to get together & celebrate this week! Not sure why you want to hang around with all of us 'old fogies', but we're glad that you do! Happy Birthday!

Down on the Farm.....
.....at Summer Camp. Thanks Aunt Beth for sending pictures of Daniel's fun day at Summer Camp! We miss you Daniel!
What's going on with us.......
Daniel left yesterday for Summer Camp this week at Nanna & Big Daddy's Church.
Gran came to spend some one on one time w/ Laura Ann for the first time ever maybe??
And while they are having all this fun, I am chained to this for the next 2 weeks for a class to renew my teaching certificate-yuck!
This little boy......
.....is GREAT at entertaining himself. He's always been this way. Yesterday morning he watched the Speed Racer movie for the 1st time in awhile & then got out all of his cars. No exaggeration, I took this picture 1 1/2 hours later & he was still at it. He moved all over the house playing "Speed Racer" w/ those cars perfectly content in his own little world.
Dancing Daddy!
This isn't the greatest quality picture, but it represents a moment that I want to remember, so it makes the blog! Awhile back, Uncle Matt made us a cd w/ UA game day music. Some of it is from the band & some is not. Daniel & Laura Ann LOVE dancing to it. Dan does this dance/march routine all through the house & they follow along. It is hysterical to watch, but I have been strictly forbidden from ever posting the video, so I leave you with a picture of the best daddy in the world having fun with his little girl (he did get a little carried away w/ the tutu on his head, but Laura Ann thought it was the greatest thing ever:)!
