Sam ended up at the ER last night & then was admitted due to a blockage of scare tissue from his surgery last year. We are praying for a quick recovery for him!! Feel better soon, Sam! Gran & Papa came home from the hospital with me this afternoon for a quick visit with Daniel & Laura Ann. They decided to play outside, despite the rain, and put on quite a show for the observers on the porch!

Silly Sundays

 
I love to take pictures on Sunday of them in their Sunday best (which is getting more casual by the week), but Daniel leaves early to go & greet with Dan before Laura Ann and I are even dressed, so it is a rare occasion. I brought my camera along to church this morning & these are the shots I got. They were in quite a silly mood! Oh, and don't miss the paper airplane Daniel made out of his SS lesson!

I L.O.V.E the Johnsons!!
This sweet family is moving to Albany Georgia with JD's job, so we decided to send them off with a Mexican fiesta, Munoz style......a favorite spot for almost all of us. The sweet staff at Munoz graciously let us crash (literally) their porch tonight with all of our hooligans (I mean, children) and have a going away bash for the Johnsons. A bash, it was, and amazingly Munoz was still standing when it was over! Ha!

This is a really difficult post for me because one of my dearest, most special friends, EVER, is moving! Sniff, sniff!! I can't even begin to describe what a sweet, precious person Natalie Johnson is and she really is the best kind of friend a girl could ever have! I am so blessed to have met her few years ago and to get to share such a special friendship with her. I should include that her husband and kids are pretty great too & are going to be greatly missed by my husband & kids. The whole thing is bitter sweet, because while I am so sad to see them go, I am also so excited to see what God is going to do in their lives as He moves them to Albany. And as always with the Johnsons, it is so encouraging to see two people who seek & follow HIS Will so faithfully in their lives. I just love them all to pieces & wish them the VERY best in their move!

Oh, and I refuse to say goodbye, just 'until next time' because they are definitely life long friends!

Poor Sara Kate broke her arm a few weeks ago & got the same big cast that Laura Ann had to start with. She got to downsize to the short, waterproof cast yesterday, so they were ready for some water fun today and guess which friend she wanted to spend her first day back in the water with?? DANIEL! They are the sweetest friends and had so much fun together today. Laura Ann and Emma are becoming big buddies too. Daniel could not wait to try out the tube and LOVED it! Laura Ann was right there with him, but it took her a few minutes to get into it once her ride started. She ended up loving it too! We spent the day doing lots of tubing, swimming & fishing and had a blast! We love the Lombardos!

We met the Bettis', Smileys & Willoughbys at Pump It Up this morning for loads of fun. And then the Bettis' & the James' took the party on to Munoz for lunch. We are living it up our last few days of summer!! :)

We ate dinner at Jim N Nicks tonight & Daniel & Laura Ann got balloons. We always 'release' balloons when we get home with them. It was quite entertaining tonight because we were able to watch them for a LONG time!!

Feathery Friends

I haven't managed to get any pictures of our humming birds this summer, but never fear, they have been as plentiful as ever & keep Dan very busy changing out the feeder. He has to refill it at least every 3 days, sometimes more often.

Ann, Merrill & Jeb spent this past week in Virginia visiting family & Daniel has been a little lost. Ann sent me a couple of texts during the week to say as much about Jeb. We went out to dinner last night & when we got home Daniel asked if he could check to see if Jeb was home yet & I said yes. When he went over, Brett was on the porch waiting for them & told Daniel that they would be home in about 5 minutes & to wait for them with him. I was at the fence in our drive way playing with Champ when Ann's car stopped in front of our house & Jeb jumped out screaming, "Daniel....I have missed you SO MUCH!" They ran & hugged each other, along with something slaps & wrestling (guess that's a boy thing?). It was the sweetest thing ever! Jeb shared some of the love with Laura Ann too. They are all such good friends & after that reunion, I would say that they really missed each other. I so wish I would've gotten a picture of it, but as Ann says, we'll just have to take one with our hearts! They spent the entire day today making up for lost time & enjoyed one of the few summer days they have left!

We met Matt, Natalie & Caroline in Douglasville for a few days at Big Daddy and Nanna's. Daniel & Laura Ann were thrilled to get to spend more time with Caroline. The three of them spent every possible minute they could in the pool and had a great time. We did take a small break from the pool to go to the Georgia Aquarium and then have lunch at The Varsity one day. The Aquarium was fantastic and the kids LOVED it. We saw all of our favorites from the last visit and then added the Dolphin Show this time. The Dolphin Show was GREAT!!! Daniel got an inflatable dolphin in the giftshop when we were leaving and entertained us the rest of the day in the pool 'training' his dolphin. Yes, it seems that we have moved from Steve, the alligator wrestler, to Daniel, the dolphin trainer. Ha! Anyway, it was a super fun visit!!
