We had our annual Picnic/Easter Egg Hunt at the Akridge's on Saturday morning. It was lots of fun, but FREEZING!! We would've been better off if I'd dressed us for the weather, but the news Saturday morning said the high was 68, so the long sleeve tee & sweater were just precautions that I threw in at the last minute, but they ended up not being nearly enough. The kids didn't seem to notice how cold it was though, they were too busy playing & inhaling sugar. Mrs. Becky told the preschool version of the Easter story (Mr. Mike made a fire to keep us warm for that), then we ate lunch, had a little talk from Pastor Buddy & hunted eggs. I am working on Daniel & Laura Ann's egg hunting strategy. They want to open each egg immediately & eat the contents. I am trying to convince them, especially Daniel, that he would have MORE candy if he would hunt, then eat when he's finished. He would even throw the eggs back out of his basket after he finished eating the candy, so at the end of the hunt, he had nothing to show for it. I think at that point, he was starting to understand that he needed to rethink his strategy..... :)
