Laura Ann can pedal!!

Laura Ann started pedaling a couple of days ago! Yea! She's been wanting a bike helmet like Daniel, so I told her last week that when she learned to pedal, we would get her one. She was definitely motivated by that because she learned just a couple of days later! Today, we went to Target & got a Princess helmet. She wore it all morning while we ran errands & ate lunch. She also took it to bed with her at nap time. I guess it would be safe to say that she likes it!
On a side note, I have to say that Laura Ann's mommy & daddy went on their 1st date TWELVE years ago today! They must have had a good time! :)

Visiting Gran & Papa

We had a fun visit in Moulton over the weekend. Daniel & Laura Ann spent lots of time playing outside & we all enjoyed Gran's cooking. Papa may make a baseball player out of Daniel, yet. He had him a real tball bat for this visit & Daniel LOVED it! Laura Ann even made an attempt to bat....

ZIP Line

Look at Daniel go!

Jack did it too!

Great job Jack!

Daniel had lots of fun celebrating birthdays last week. We started with Jack & Caroline's on Thursday night (sorry no pics from it) & finished with Taylor's on Friday night. Taylor's party was at his grandparents' house & his granddad made a zip line in his backyard for the boys to play on. Boy, was it a hit!

Changing Clothes

Can I just start by saying that this behavior is DRIVING ME CRAZY!! Laura Ann changes clothes & panties numerous times everyday. She does it when I'm not watching & just appears out of nowhere in something different. It is not uncommon for her to change clothes & panties at least 3 times before we leave for school on school days. I can't keep clean clothes or panties in her drawers, much less keep them neat. I have punished her over & over, but she doesn't seem to get it, so, I've just let her go. I have finally got her limited to her pajama drawer, so she is always in pjs & probably occasionally puts worn panties back in the drawer mixed w/ clean ones, but, oh, well.... I had to snap a picture b/c this conflict has taken up so much of our time lately. This is what I find almost every time I walk in her room that I am surprised if it isn't there. I'm thinking this is a girl thing, because Daniel never did this & truthfully would wear the same pair of underwear for 2 weeks if I'd let him! :)

Belle & Baby

"Here Baby, you sit with, Belle. Belle, don't let her fall & get a boo boo."

Stopping to take a call.

Laura Ann is still lining her babies up in various places around the house. She is so cute talking & playing with them.

Who's Child Eats Spinach?

Mine does- at least one of them! For the past 2 weeks, Daniel has eaten a spinach & cheese sandwich for lunch. I always eat lettuce on my sandwich, so he started asking to have "salad" on his sandwich too. One day, we were out of "salad" & I told him that. He said, "no, here's some (pulling out a bag of spinach)", so I put it on his sandwich, he ate it & has ask for a cheese & salad (spinach) sandwich everyday since! I know this won't last for long. I just wanted it recorded that one of my children voluntary ate spinach. Do I get some kind of mom award for this? Probably not, because Laura Ann's reponse to just about everything I put in front of her is, "no tank you, I not wike dat".

Zoo Tots

I took Laura Ann to zoo class last Wednesday. The topic was Australian Animals. She got to pet a few animals in class, made a craft (lorikeet), fed some lorikeets & visited the Kangaroo Country exhibit to watch the kangaroos, wallabies & wombats. She had a great time!

Big Trouble!

Laura Ann decided one day last week to use a pen to "etch" a drawing on her table. When I saw it, I asked her if she did it. She said, "Uh-huh, I in BIIIG touble, I gone get a pankin". The bad part is that she said this w/ no fear....

Champ+Pillow= Great Nap

I thought I would post a pic of Champ since I posted one of Ruthie & Molly. He always takes advantage when he finds a pillow in the floor. He really is the sweetest dog ever!

I will be catching up in the next several posts from this last week.....

A New Bed

Our poor, neglected dogs have always slept on a towel or blanket in their crate (used to sleep w/ us, but got the boot when LA was born),anyway, the point is what a very rough life they lead. They spend a lot of time during the day upstairs helping Dan work. He keeps a towel in the chair where they do all of their "work". Yesterday, he went to the pet store to buy food & came home w/ a real dog bed for them. So, at the ripe old age of 9, the James' dachsunds are finally living in luxury!

Sammy the Sheep & a Nature Walk

Daniel got bring Sammy the Sheep home on Thursday to spend the weekend with us. He was soooo excited. Sammy hasn't missed a minute of our family fun over the past several days. Laura Ann's class went on a "Nature Walk" on Thursday & she came home with a sack full of her "finds".

Look Who's Driving......

Laura Ann is!!! Yea, but lookout! :) David & Jacob stayed w/ us on Wednesday. Dan took David & Daniel to school, so Jacob & Laura Ann had some fun playtime w/o the big boys around. We went outside to ride the Barbie Jeep & Jacob drove. Laura Ann always goes right to the passenger side & never seems interested in driving, until Jacob was here. As soon as they took off, she starting saying, I wanna do it, I wanna a turn. So, she got her turn & took off w/ NO sense of how to steer & hit everything in her path & went into the street multiple times. Poor Jacob didn't know what he signed up for letting her drive! So glad that she's over her fear of driving- now she just needs to learn how to steer & she will be all set for the Barbie Jeep.

New Hunting Strategies

On your mark, Get set....

Go!

A basket full of eggs

A basket full of candy

Daniel & Laura Ann tested out new egg hunting strategies after lunch. Daniel followed my advice & filled his basket w/ eggs first, then ate the candy. Laura Ann somewhat caught on- she opened each egg as she picked it up & emptied it in her basket, then threw the egg down, but she waited until she was finished hunting to eat the candy. Yea- they are both improving! After looking at Kate's egg hunt pics, maybe Uncle Sam could give my 2 lessons??? Ha! Happy Easter!
