Our McWane Marathon!

In the hurricane tunnel

With Mr. Potato Head

The crew

The crew in the hurricane tunnel (we had to get in it everytime we passed it)

We 'McWaned our Brains' today with the Bozemans and had so much fun!!! (We have at least ten cups in the cabinet or sandbox that say 'McWane Your Brain', so that is always in my head when I think McWane Center) We got there at 9:30 (good & early) like always, because we usually leave after lunch. Well, not today. The kids were all having such a great time & playing so well together that there was no reason to leave & we ended up staying until 2:30! Melissa & I even got to have some lengthy adult conversations which has never happened before at McWane because I am too busy chasing kids. From beginning to end, it was a fun, fun day and I think we are all looking forward to doing it again soon!

Independence Day Celebration

Daniel & Laura Ann spent the weekend at Nanna & Big Daddy's and I think they pretty much lived in the pool the entire time they were there! Nanna & Big Daddy's church had a 4th of July celebration Sunday evening that included a parade. Daniel & Laura Ann decorated their bikes & rode in the parade. Big Daddy took lots of pictures so we could see what a great job they did. It looks like a super fun time! Thanks to Nanna & Big Daddy for a fun filled weekend & to Big Daddy for sending me the pics!

All in a Summer Week

Daniel enjoyed playing with Morgan & Griffin at Pump it Up

I have been a total slacker this week taking pics (the Pump it Up pics are from my phone), but Daniel & Laura Ann had a super fun filled week. They enjoyed lunch & playground at Chickfila on Monday, the free movie on Tuesday, Pump it Up on Wednesday & swimming at the Y on Thursday! We are soaking up all of the summer activities we can as it passes so quickly........it's already halfway over!!!!

Super Hero Update

Daniel lost the cape to his Superman costume, rendering it completely useless. So, he appeared one day last week with his costume crisis solution........

The headless Spiderman & Power Ranger completely cleaned up the 'oil spill' in Daniel's bathtub & rescued all of the endangered animals this week. Maybe Obama & BP should consult them for help????

Happy Father's Day!

Dan opening his Toy Story card that Daniel told him about last week as soon as we bought it!

Dan & Daniel's matching shirts were a total accident this morning, but it sure made for a good picture!

Big Daddy with the group

Three generations of James boys!

Dan started out his Father's Day with a few handmade cards & a singing Toy Story card from the kids. That was followed by lots of hugs & kisses. Daniel & Laura Ann both absolutely adore Dan & he is truly the best daddy in the world for them!

We had the treat of having Nanna & Big Daddy join us for lunch after church & enjoyed celebrating with Big Daddy. We missed seeing Papa today, but want to wish him a very big Happy Father's Day! Mine, as well as Daniel & Laura Ann's lives are so richly blessed by these three men & I am so very thankful for all of them!

Toy Story 3

Jessie (Laura Ann), Woody (Joel), Bad Buzz (Daniel), Good Buzz (Caleb)

Buzz & Jessie w/ 3D glasses ready for the movie

The Prices came over for dinner this evening & then we all headed to the theater for the opening day of Toy Story 3. Lucky for us, we were accompanied by Jessie (who thankfully lost her skirt before we went into the theater), Woody & 2 Buzzes! They were quite the hit & 'bad' Buzz even had his pic taken with a group of total strangers (per their request)! My favorite was the teenager who said to them, "This is great! If my costume still fit, I'd have worn mine too!" This was after the movie & put me into tears yet again. The movie is quite sentimental.....the setting is Andy, who was a child & preteen in 1 & 2, going off to college, so it puts you in a such sentimental state. We saw the movie in 3D & even Laura Ann kept her glasses on the whole time. The movie was great (just a tear jerker for moms). We all enjoyed it, along with all the concession stand had to offer. Daniel, Joel & Caleb all sat on the row in front of us. How can it be that we've gone from not being able to go to the theater because Daniel couldn't sit still through a movie, to not even needing to sit with me so fast?? Oh, and if you're wondering what the magic age is when they realize that the machines in the arcade take money- it's six. Daniel ask for $$$ to play a game tonight. He usually just plays away, oblivious that nothing is really happening. It was a super fun night. We have been counting down the time for this movie to come out forever & it was worth the wait. Toy Story 3 did not disappoint! I'm sure we'll see it a million times, just like 1 & 2 when comes out on DVD!!!!

Box Art

I unpacked two of the last boxes we have left today. Daniel & Laura Ann decided to turn the boxes into an art project. This kept them busy for quite awhile! My favorite is still the day that I unpacked the china & crystal, though. The whole time I was packing the china, they kept wanting to play with the bubble wrap. I gave them both small pieces & told them that they would have to wait until I unpacked it. Well, let's just say it was worth the wait. I think there was enough bubble wrap in those few boxes for a whole department store of china! They spent the entire afternoon- LITERALLY- popping bubbles- with their hands, feet & any other way they could think of to do it. It was a little loud, but kept them busy & I got the entire dining room organized. I was being so productive that day that I didn't stop to snap a picture. Unfortunately, those productive kind of days don't happen often enough! :)

Free Movie Tuesday

One of our favorite parts of summer is the free movie on Tuesday at the theater. We met the Prices this week to see Muppets in Space. We all enjoyed the movie & all of the movie snacks! We also had fun at the Chickfila playground & swimming at the Y this week too, but I didn't get pics of those......

Fun at Farmlinks

Laura Ann's pinecone collection

Griffin, Tyler, Morgan, Daniel, Laura Ann (was thrilled to have her picture made), Matthew, Anderson

Our sweet friends, the Trawicks, hosted us, the Greenhaws & the Blakes at Farmlinks, where Jonathan works on Saturday. We've been trying to do this for quite awhile & finally pulled it off. I can't go any farther without saying how absolutely GORGEOUS it is there! Besides the natural beauty that surrounded us, Jonathan had reserved a cottage for us to cookout & hangout out in & it was gorgeous as well! We all enjoyed burgers & hotdogs on the grill & of course Lauren T. spoiled us with one of her MANY yummy desserts- snicker bar pie. The kids had so much fun playing together. Since we were on a golf course, I think golf ended up being the game of choice, except for Laura Ann, who spent her time picking pine cones off the ground (there weren't many flowers, aka weeds, on the perfectly manicured property:). After we ate, Dan, Daniel & Laura Ann spent some time fishing while the rest of us headed up to see the view from #5. Just when I thought it couldn't be any more beautiful- it was! Dan caught lots of fish in the meantime & was really excited about that. It was a really fun time with such great friends. We all agreed while we were there, that Farmlinks is the perfect location for a couples retreat & someone threw out doing it sometime this fall during football season. After giving that some thought, I'm not sure that is the best idea since Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss & Miss. State are the schools represented among us 4 couples......... Maybe we should wait until spring?? Ha! Ha!

Welcome to the Blog, Papaw!!

We enjoyed a visit with Mamaw & Papaw while we were in Moulton. I tried to get Papaw set up to see the blog, but wasn't able to finish it. The email never went through while I was there. Maybe someone else can help him this week.....Melba??? :)

A Special Visit

Me, Leigh Ann, Alison, John David, Daniel, Ian, Laura Ann, Charlotte

' />

I had the most fun Friday night visiting with my two oldest friends, Alison & Leigh Ann! Alison planned a trip to Moulton from Amarillo a few months back, so that gave us the excuse to get together. Daniel, Laura Ann & I went through Moulton & picked up Gran Friday afternoon on our way to Decatur. We all met at Charlotte's (better known as Mimi)& had a great time catching up, or at least as much catching up as we could do with all of our kids! Gran & Mimi got to catch up too. The kids all had so much fun playing dress up in Mimi's playroom, going for rides on the golf cart with Leigh Ann, playing golf, chasing fireflies, running WILD on the golf course & Daniel showed us a few Team Impact moves with some sticks he found (he's lifting the coffee table as I type this......seriously??). John David worked really hard too, so Daniel may have a new team member soon! :)Ian is as sweet as ever & worked really hard to keep up with the big kids. I have to say, now that he is walking, he really isn't so far behind! His smile with those dimples, along with those huge blue eyes are enough to melt any heart! Laura Ann was highly entertained by playing dress up with Charlotte & Gray. I know they attended at least one princess ball while we were there. Mimi really went overboard- after a great meal of grilled hamburgers & fixins', she had an ice cream bar that of course, was a hit with my two! Although our visits are few & far between, Alison & Leigh Ann remain such dear friends. We always manage to pick up right where we left off the last time. I love you both & can't wait until our next visit!!

The Never Ending Birthday

The Coueys came over on Tuesday afternoon to see Daniel & bring him his birthday gift. He & Laura Ann were both very excited to see them, as always. I think Daniel has set a record for the longest birthday celebration ever!
