Well, the tooth fairy did visit last night, managed to find the tooth & leave something in it's place! The tooth fairy now understands the purpose behind those cute little tooth pillows that we never purchased. I don't think it would've made a difference though, because he was dead set on the tooth being under his pillow! I woke up at 1:00am & heard Daniel crying over the monitor. I got up & ran in his room to see what was wrong, because he never wakes up in the middle of the night. When I got in there, he was near hysterics because he couldn't find his tooth! Ha! I quickly explained that the tooth fairy must've already come & then we found what she had left behind. Bless his heart, he was shaking so much that he couldn't even open the envelope, so I had to do it for him! The tooth fairy left a letter along with 2 five dollar bills. Relief washed over him or maybe it was just delirium, but he just laid the envelope on his nightstand & went right back to sleep! He came running in our room about 5:50 so excited to show off what the tooth fairy had left! I don't think he had any recollection of waking up at 1:00! He immediately starting discussing possibilities of how to spend his money, one of which included giving some to Papa to buy new furniture for the beach house- ha! By the time Laura Ann got up, he had decided on going to Wal-Mart to buy a new toy & told Laura Ann that he would share some with her so she could get something too! How sweet!!!! So, we made the trek to Wal- Mart this afternoon- Daniel has a new Batman set of men (not sure who they all are) & Laura Ann got a bathtub Barbie. Sorry, Papa, but there was none left over, so it looks like you'll be footing the furniture bill without Daniel's assistance! :)

FINALLY!!!!!!!
SO, SO excited!
Ready for the tooth fairy with his tooth under his pillow
Daniel's tooth finally fell out at supper tonight while eating a bacon sandwich. I've been wondering how in the world it hasn't fallen out yet because it has been hanging by a thread for days, but now I know........the root is bigger than the tooth! When it happened, he jumped up holding his mouth & we knew immediately what had happened. He did great recovering the tooth- so careful not to swallow it! He was SOOOOOOO excited about it & so was Laura Ann. They had a grand conversation about putting it under his pillow for the tooth fairy to come. Laura Ann declared that she likes the tooth fairy, however, she will NOT be loosing any of her teeth! I guess we'll see about that! Daniel insisted on getting his bath & getting straight into bed (@ 6:45) to be sure that he's asleep by the time the tooth fairy gets here! Ha! I suggested that he should just put it on his nightstand so the tooth fairy could get to it easily, but he was afraid she wouldn't look for there & insisted on putting it UNDER his pillow. GREAT! I'm sure the tooth fairy will appreciate having to raise his head to find it & hopefully it won't have fallen behind his bed. The tooth fairy is currently trying to decide what the going rate is for a tooth these days......back in her day it was quarters, maybe a dollar. I'm sure the tooth fairy will get it all worked out- the amount to leave, as well as finding the tooth UNDER the pillow. More to come tomorrow! :)
Little Airplane
Daniel had to copy a poem about a little airplane as part of an art project. Writing is still his weak point, but WOW, has he come a LONG way since August thanks to a GREAT teacher!
Better late.......
.....than never! I bought some Christmas slice & bakes right before Christmas & we just never got around to making them, but they sure made for a fun afternoon snack in January!
Super Elmo
Daniel has been dressing Elmo & Ducky Ducky (not pictured) in his spare capes for some Super Hero help around the house! :)

WOBBLY........
......TOOTH!!!! That's right- Daniel has a loose tooth. Ever since the episode of Charlie & Lola where Lola has a 'wobbly' tooth, that is what we call it. He is SOOOO excited about it. Some of his friends have already lost their first tooth, so he has been waiting to have a loose tooth for a while. He learned at school that sometimes the tooth fairy brings money & sometimes a toy. He is really anxious to see what the tooth fairy will bring him (maybe I should consult our REAL tooth fairy who lives right here in Trussville- Carrie Anne, I welcome any ideas!) He really worked on it tonight, hoping to get it out before bedtime, but no such luck. Maybe tomorrow!
Gran's Creations
Gran made Daniel & Laura Ann's outfits that they wore to church this morning. So, so cute! We love them, Gran & have enjoyed your visit!
101 Dalmations
The Willinghams weren't able to use their tickets to the 101 Dalmations Musical yesterday, so we were happy to go for them! Actually, we had kind of a hard time getting ready to go thanks to FOUR GRUMPY James family members(Laura Ann got up at 4:30am, Dan didn't want to spend his afternoon at a play, I was stressed b/c our internet was down & I had to print our tickets & Daniel was just in one of his bad moods)!! I'm sure the Greenhaws, who dropped in yesterday during our premusical grumpiness can testify to this, but I am happy to report that the day got much better when we got to the Civic Center. Daniel & Laura Ann were glued the entire play. Laura Ann especially loved Cruella Devil & has told everyone she talked to about Cruella being on fire in her car- I guess that was her favorite part! Cruella was outstanding. For a day that started out so rocky- it sure ended well- after all of that fun at the musical, Gran was waiting for us when we got home! See next post......
Batman Champ
Daniel & Laura Ann dressed Champ up like Batman last week. In case you're wondering, Daniel was Robin & Laura Ann was a Butterfly. Not sure how a Butterfly goes w/ Batman & Robin, but that's what she said. She's put this combination on several times this week & every time she says she's a butterfly! As you can tell from the picture, Champ was THRILLED with his costume! Ha! Bless him. He endures endless torture from his human siblings! :)
SNOW Angels

Dan & I hesitated to send Daniel & Laura Ann to Georgia last Thursday because we didn't want them to miss all of the snow that was in the forecast for us to get in Birmingham. We decided to send them on anyway & it turns out that the snow missed Birmingham (we got a few flurries, but no accumulation) & landed in Douglasville! Leigh Anne came over to watch the game with them on Thursday night & got snow/iced in at Nanna & Big Daddy's. By the time the game was over, the ground was covered. The pics are from Friday morning. I'm sure Daniel & Laura Ann were beyond excited to wake up to snow & to find that Leigh Anne had spent the night! A big thanks to Big Daddy for creating a sleigh from a gurney in one of his body removal vans (ha!!!! how funny is that? I'm starting to see where Daniel gets some of his creativity!!:) and to Leigh Anne for taking pictures.........to BOTH of them for braving the FREEZING temperature for my two snow angels to get to play outside in the winter wonderland! Kudos to you too Nanna for having dry clothes & hot chocolate ready for them when they came back inside. They had a blast!! According to Leigh Anne, snow + hot chocolate + warm fire = perfect day! :)

CELEBRATING........
......BAMA's 13th National Championship!!! We had a great time last night cheering on the TIDE with the Rogers & the Daniels! What a game, what a season! ROOOOLLLLLLLL TIDE!!!!!
Getting Ready......
......for the big game! We started our ROLL TIDE cheers early yesterday morning before Daniel & Laura Ann left to go to Nanna & Big Daddy's for the weekend.
*Be sure to go back to the Luke 2 post of Daniel & check out Laura Ann singing her Baby Jesus song. I've been trying to get her to do for the camera, but she has refused. When I was snapping the cheer pictures above, she just started singing, so had to quickly grab my other camera that records video. I will post it soon.
Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny......
......Pink Sunglasses Bikini?????? This is how I found Laura Ann watching cartoons yesterday morning!

Pump It Up
We spent our last day of Christmas vacation at Pump It Up. Daniel & Laura Ann had a great time playing with Reese, Kate, Sophie & Anne Claire. Daniel also got to play with one of his school buddies, Cole. Their energy & stamina really blows my mind. I can barely climb that slide one time without being totally worn out, but they do it over & over & over again without even loosing their breath! Did I ever have that much energy, even at 5? They both had a ball!
I can't write this post without mentioning an 'event' (I'll spare you the details) that happened today & my sweet friends who really took up for me! Let's just say I know which friend to pick when there is a confrontation, etc., because she will totally have my back- seriously! Ha! And my other friend present today was great moral support! THANKS girls! I'm just hoping that maybe that the CRAZY lady who caused the 'event' was visiting from out of town & that I won't see her again!!!!!:)
