We spent the evening playing at the bay yesterday. Daniel & Laura Ann like it as well as the beach.

Daniel had fun too!
He is such a big boy- no baby left in him! He spent a lot of time throwing his frisbee & we spent a lot time ducking our heads! :)
Laura Ann had a blast!
Laura Ann starting laughing & squealing as soon as we topped the dunes & she could see the water & didn't stop for about 2 hours. She had a blast running & splashing in the water. She's the reason I took so many pictures- she was just too cute! All I could think of was that 2 1/2 years ago, I had a little boy who had the exact same reaction.
Fun on the Beach
Yesterday was about the best day on the beach ever! The weather was perfect, not too hot or too cool. Both of my children were big enough to play & have a great time- no meltdowns 10 minutes after we got down there. We took 2 bags of toys, but of course, they just wanted to play with sand, shells & sticks. They both ran up & down the beach a zillion times & had lots of fun splashing in the water. I had a hard time keeping LA out of the water. Daniel reminded her often that we can't go in the "deep water" (past our ankles) without Daddy.
My dermatologist would be so proud of their new swimsuits w/ swimshirts UPF50+!!!!! If I could just get them to keep their hats on........
Spring Break '09
Daniel, Laura Ann and I made a trip to Gulf Shores with Gran for a few days. Despite a day of rain, we all had a great time. Daniel & Laura Ann had a ball on the beach & I got a little camera crazy (shocker, I know), so I am dedicating several posts to their beach fun.

A Visit to the Dentist
Daniel and Laura Ann had their first visit to the dentist on Wednesday (I know Daniel is way late & I have several great excuses, but I'll spare you those). I was nervous & couldn't imagine either one of them cooperating, but they both amazingly, did a super job. The hygenist cleaned the puppy's teeth first & showed them what she was going to do, then Daniel had a turn & LA could hardly wait for her turn. She loved the water sprayer & suction tools & was constantly asking for a drink & to "spit". It was really funny! Daniel was all business while his teeth were being cleaned & was perfectly still. His mind was on going to the treasure box when we got finished! They both got good reports- no cavities! Yea!
We left the dentist & went straight to the pediatrician, where they were both diagnosed with ear infections. These are the first ones they've had in over a year, so I guess I can't complain. I suspected Daniel had one, the reason for the appointment. Laura Ann was just along for the ride & got her ears checked just because we were there & she had one too.
We had another pleasant visit. Usually any appointment where I have to take both of them is chaotic & I leave completely stressed, but today was different. We spent the entire morning in dentist/doctor's offices & I wasn't stressed the entire time & they were so well behaved. There was no screaming & they both fully cooperated both places- it was great! I was thinking to myself, who are these children? Then I realized that they are just older versions of the toddlers that used to cause all of the chaos in doctors appointments. I really miss my screaming toddlers!! I know I say this every other post, but everyday is a reminder in some way of how they are growing up ever so fast.
Sweet Moments
Daniel and Laura Ann have the typical brother/sister, love/hate relationship. They do their fair share of fighting & aggravating each other. This past week though, they have played nonstop together & have been so sweet to each other. I love being in another room & hearing them crack up about something just between the two of them. One day this past week, while I was cooking supper, they were in the backyard playing & all I could hear were giggles. I was so tempted to go out & see what was so funny, but I didn't want to interupt them. They sit in Dan's recliner a lot to watch movies. One day, I noticed that Laura Ann had her arm around Daniel- so sweet! I took this picture to remind them when they are 14 & 12 that they really did used to love each other!

Good Merning....
....is the greeting I get every morning from this sweet face. She also says "ernge" instead of orange. Obviously, the /or/ sound is a little difficult for her. Thank goodness one of my best friends is a speech therapist! Leigh, get ready for your newest patient! Ha- I know she will probably grow out of on her own, but for now, it gives me something to smile about every morning! :)
Our Snowman
On Sunday, Daniel & Laura Ann weren't very interested in building a snowman, probably because we waited until they were too cold to try. So, yesterday, we went back outside & attempted to build one in what little was left of the snow. We did manage to rake & scrape enough snow to form some sort of snowman creature. Laura Ann got out the sand toys & Daniel got out his wheelbarrow & shovel. They both were huge helpers in the process!
