ROLL TIDE!!

Nanna, Big Daddy, Matt, Dan, me, Daddy & Sam went to the Iron Bowl yesterday. We had a great time tailgating & the game was a blast! Roll Tide!

Christmas Card Photo Shoot

While we were in Moulton, we attempted to get picture of Daniel, Laura Ann & Kate for Gran's Christmas Card. Kate was all smiles, but Daniel & Laura Ann of course, were more difficult. Laura Ann insisted on holding Kate & Daniel insisted on using his fake smile. Not sure we got a keeper, but here are the ones we left with....

Thanksgiving Day

We spent Thanksgiving Day in Moulton at Gran & Papa's. Dan "released" the Polar Express movie Thanksgiving morning, so Daniel got to watch it on the way to Moulton. He was glued to the TV the entire trip & has played nonstop with his trains since then. Gran had a yummy breakfast waiting for us when we got there, then we spent the rest of the day lounging & playing. Daniel & Laura Ann had a great time with Kate. She patiently endured their many hugs & kisses. We went to Mamaw & Papaw's for another great meal in the evening. Daniel & Laura Ann had more fun with all of the cousins in the extended family. I got a picture of them eating with Rylee & Sara. We all had great day & are so very THANKFUL for all of our MANY blessings!

Pumpkin Pie

Daniel & I make a "no bake" pumpkin pie every Thanksgiving. Laura Ann joined us this year. Actually, she took over. She did not want anyone else to have a turn to stir & she cried when I made her give Daniel a turn. They both enjoyed their mini pies & Daniel has almost finished off the big one.

Swimming on Thanksgiving?

We kicked off our Thanksgiving on Wednesday with going swimming at the Y. The bubble has been up for awhile & I just haven't made time to go. We had no plans for Wednesday morning, so we went swimming. Daniel & Laura Ann had a blast & haven't lost any of their swimming skills from the summer. We will definitely be making some more trips to the pool this winter.

Still Loving the Pumpkins

For the past 2 months, every time we leave & come back home, Daniel & Laura Ann have to say hello to the pumpkins.

Pirate Ship

 
Daniel built a pirate ship with all of his blocks. He was so proud of it that he kept it in his floor for about 18 hours. That was about as long as we could keep LA out of there & from tearing it down! He said that Barney & Spiderman were his helpers, so they got to be in the picture too.

Christmas Movies

 
Dan is the Christmas movie Nazi at our house. He puts them up right after Christmas & we aren't allowed to watch them again until the next Christmas. Well, tonight Dan declares that we can get out the Rudolph & Frosty movies early. Yea! Daniel was beside himself & stayed glued to both movies! We were also informed that we can get out The Polar Express next week. That is the one that we are most excited about! Thanks Dan! You are really loosening up letting us watch them a whole 10 days early!:)

Space Shuttle

 
Big Daddy called us tonight & said that we could see the space shuttle orbiting in about 2 minutes, so we hurried outside & there it was! Daniel watched it take off on the news a few days ago & was excited to get to see it again.

Pigtails

 
Such a sad face for such a cute little girl! Laura Ann wore pigtails over the weekend for the first time. She was absolutely adorable, but I wasn't too excited about how old they mad her look! I want back my bald headed baby! She really liked them, but was not happy that I made her stop & take a picture!

Sweet Boy or Mean Snake?

 
Daniel got in the car from school last Thursday so excited to tell me that he was a mean snake on the playground & scared all of the girls. He is 110% boy!
He is also the the most stubborn, strong willed child EVER! Of course, he gets this ALL from Dan! He went into his room on Thursday for naptime as usual. He always plays a little while & then gets in his bed & takes a nap. Well, he made a huge mess in his room, so I told him before he ever went to sleep, that it had to be cleaned up before he could come out. He went to sleep around 2:00, slept until about 3:30. When he got up, he whined a little about coming out & not cleaning & I made him stay in his room. Laura Ann & I left at 4:30 to go to a party & I told Dan what the situation was with the messy room & that he was still in his room. When we got home at 7:00, Daniel was still in his room!!!! Dan said he had come out once to use the bathroom & that was it. Dan offered him supper, among other things when his room was clean & he just stayed in there! I felt bad that he had been in there that long, but it was also funny that he was really willing to wait us out that long. Anyway, about 7:30, he comes out, announces that his room is clean & that he is hungry. He ate supper & was happy as could be!

Potty Time!

 
Laura Ann tee teed in the potty for the 1st time last week! Yea! She has only done it one time since then, but it's a start!

Tutu & Tiara=Football Player

 
in Daniel's world. Daniel is constantly dressing up in his football uniform & playing football. Of course, he is always John Parker. Last week, he was running around playing & he looked over at Laura Ann, who was dressed up in her tiara, tutu & high heels & says, "I'm John Parker, you can be Cody." Dan & I cracked up because not only was LA dressed in all "girly" attire, but Cody weighs well over 300 pounds. He's HUGE! Only in Daniel's world could Laura Ann play Cody.

New Shoes

When I checked Daniel's new New Balance shoes, they were a medium width & he needs a wide width, at least. This is why we love New Balance, because they are one of the few brands that come in wide. Anyway, Dan & Laura Ann exchanged them last night while Daniel & I went to Mission Friends at church. When we got home, not only were Daniel's new kicks sitting out, but also matching pink ones for Laura Ann. I guess I find this funny because the only participation from Dan in any part of their wardrobe is to complain about the cost, but even he got in the store & couldn't resist the pink NB that she did not need! :) Needless to say, they are both very proud of their new shoes & sported them to school today. Daniel says his make him run very fast!

Happy Birthday Dan!

We celebrated Dan's birthday on Wednesday. Daniel was very excited to give him the Buzz & Woody birthday card that he picked out. I made Dan's favorite dessert, cake w/ chocolate sauce. He thoroughly enjoyed it & just scraped the last spoonful of chocolate out of the pan at lunch today! Happy Birthday Dan! We love you!

A Weekend in Moulton

Laura Ann and I went to Moulton on Saturday for a wedding & a baby shower. We left Dan & Daniel at home. They spent the weekend doing "boy" stuff- cutting the grass, getting new sand for the sandbox, watching football. I think they ate four straight meals of fast food & they also visited the New Balance store & got new shoes- what fun! Laura Ann & I went to my cousin's wedding on Saturday night. The wedding & reception were at my great grandmother's house & it was beautiful! It is the house that my Papaw grew up in & it was built in 1824 by his grandfather (my great great grandfather), anyway, lots of family history there. It was great to catch up with family I haven't seen in quite a while! Laura Ann met a cousin, Max, who is 3 & had lots of fun playing with him! On Sunday, we had a baby shower for Alison, a high school friend. It was great to visit with Alison, Leigh Ann (another high school friend) & lots of other Moulton people that I never get to see. Alison is having a boy, Ian James. Ian is set with Feltmon Brothers bubbles. I think he'll get to wear a new one everyday until at least 6 months old! Laura Ann was excited to open a late birthday present from her cousin, Sara. So to sum up our "girl" weekend, we spent about the whole time socializing! :)
