I wish I had this imagination

Daniel is constantly cracking us up with all of his "costumes". He finds random things around the house, mixed w/ some of his toys to create them. I've been thinking that I should buy him some costumes to play in, but then we wouldn't be able to enjoy the ones he comes up with. I'm posting his latest- batting gloves, swimmming goggles & my boots for Buzz Lightyear. I'm also including some older ones-a firefighter & my all time favorite- a nude Bob the Builder! I'm noticing a trend that none of his costumes/uniforms include pants! Who needs pants or clothes at all for that matter? At least he has all of the important gear!! :)

A Lazy Week

Not much has gone on at the James' house this past week & I must say it has been really nice to just be home! Daniel has enjoyed his new sandbox (thanks Gran!). Laura Ann enjoyed her first painting experience (I know I'm terrible, Daniel painted at a much younger age!). And we have all had fun watching the humming birds drink from our new feeder.

The Only Child

 
Laura Ann has been soaking up all of the attention these past 2 days without Daniel here. I don't really think it is possible for her to be more "rotten" than she already was, but maybe... I can say that she would probably be worse if I weren't around provide some discipline because Dan thinks she can do no wrong!! The "life" of our party will be home this evening & we can't wait to see him!!!!

More Summer Camp

Daniel had his last day of camp today. He got to see & pet some exotic animals. Thanks Aunt Beth for sending the pictures!

Summer Camp

Daniel is at Nanna & Big Daddy's this week enjoying "Summer Camp" at their church. I am posting some of the pictures Big Daddy emailed today. In addition to camp, he is thoroughly enjoying Nanna & Big Daddy's pool. When I talked to him this afternoon he said, "Mom, I've just worn myself out!":) I'm sure that means he's having a blast!! Laura Ann just came home from Gran & Papa' today. Suddenly my quiet house is full of life again!

We had a great weekend at Nanna & Big Daddy's celebrating Granny's Birthday. Daniel & Laura Ann enjoyed spending time with Caroline (or Princess Caroline as she likes to be called :). They all three had lots of fun in the pool playing with Dan, Matt & Big Daddy. We love you Granny- Thanks for giving us a good excuse to spend the weekend together. Happy 80th!!!!!!!

Pink Pig & Mommy's Shoes

Laura Ann has been attached to "sassy" & blankie forever, but she has now added pink pig to the group. She has quit strolling her baby this week because she has figured out that all of her babies fit in the shopping cart. Why stroll one when they all can cram in the cart? "Firefighter" Daniel has always worn my boots (don't know how he would manage to fight a fire in heels, but he seems to think they work for that purpose), now Laura Ann has joined the crew with the "fire engine" red shoes. They work well together & can amazingly walk in my heels better than me....

We celebrated the 4th with a backyard picnic for lunch & of course the sprinkler. Then we went to the Trussville Freedom Celebration last night. Daniel had lots of fun on all of the inflatables. Laura Ann surprised us & stayed in her stroller. She wanted no part of it! After Daniel wore himself out, we visited the ice cream truck for popsicles & ice cream. I was going to "share" with Laura Ann but she ended up taking over my cone & thoroughly enjoyed every bite! They both enjoyed the fireworks.

Baby Dolls

Laura Ann came into a BOY world at our house, but she is learning "girl play" all by herself. She walked around the house all morning yesterday strolling her pink pig and carrying her purse. This morning I found her in her room "changing" her baby doll's diaper.

We went to a cowboy party tonight at the "Champion Ranch". It was loads of fun! Happy Birthday Drew! Daniel and Laura Ann had a great time doing everything from jumping on the trampoline to the horseback rides. Laura Ann actually only liked the horse from a distance. She cried when it was her turn to ride. She did however enjoy a "bull ride". Daniel was thrilled to ride a horse! Gracie was so gracious to share her horse & patient to give rides to so many kids. Laura Ann decided to be friendly with Pastor Buddy when he had a plate of chips! :) Here's a tip for going to cowboy parties- Wear Boots!! My kiddos wore sandals & left with black feet!!
